If we were truly a unified country we would abolish the Senate. The Senate gives each state two senators [no matter their population], but what is so important about the states? Maybe in the 18th century when they were concerned about realizing their local wishes, states were thought of as countries but not so important in allegiances. If we wanted to unify a country weâd get rid of states and represent the country equally by population, similarly with regards with racial unity, one of the major sub-themes of the book.
